IALE-D Annual Conference

Ecosystem Services to ensure Sustainable Rural Development
and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources

October 20-23, 2015 Bonn, Germany

Conference topic:
Is the ecosystem service (ES) concept ready for practice? The implementation of the ES concept in landscape ecology and landscape planning is the focus of this year's meeting of IALE-D (German IALE Chapter).

We target presentations on practical applications of the ES concept in regional and rural development, in the implementation of the EU biodiversity strategy and in landscape planning. We invite presentations addressing the question how to make use of ES in different land use sectors, such as agriculture, forestry and urban systems. Lessons learnt from case studies and recommendations for better introducing the ES concept at different political scales and decision making levels are of particular interest.

Conference contributions (abstracts, posters and presentations) are accepted both in German and in English. There will be two special sessions in the conference: the IALE Award ceremony and the IALE-D General Assembly Meeting.
