The IALE community congratulates you on your new position and wishes you every success!

The aim of the workshop “Empowering wellbeing and health through nature: inspiring good practices and initiatives across Europe”, organised as part of the EU Regions Week, is to inspire with best practices and tools on how to improve regional and municipal policies to protect nature and its services. It will also explain the importance of active political and societal actions for its protection as well as new initiatives that focus on the role of social innovation and entrepreneurs in bringing the benefits of nature to society.

Through the experience and knowledge gained by partners from four Interreg Europe projects related to nature conservation and the ERAMUS+ Green4Care project, the workshop will focus on providing some key insights into inspiring good practices at regional and municipal level, and lessons learned from the cooperation between various regions within Europe.

Anita T. Morzillo and Jennifer A.M. Koch are the guest editors of the latest special issue in our flagship journal Landscape Ecology entitled "Strengthening bidirectional linkages between social and ecological systems in landscape ecology".  Find more information in the attached Call for Papers. 

Dear IALE community,

Marcin Spyra, Chiara Cortinovis and Silvia Ronchi, active members of the IALE working group “urban and peri-urban governance”, have created a survey related to the governance of peri-urban landscapes. They want to investigate which policy instruments are available to address the sustainability challenges of peri-urban landscapes, how they have been implemented, and with what results.

Please support our members and working group! Your contribution will help to increase our knowledge about the relevant instruments.

The IALE affiliated open access journal Land has received a new impact factor. According to the Journal Citation Reports/®/ in June 2021, the Impact Factor of Land is now 3.395. IALE congratulates the editorial board for their successful work in developing a journal on landscape ecological themes.

Land publishes work on and use/land change, land management, land system science, landscape, soil-sediment-water systems, urban contexts, urban-rural interactions, land–climate interactions, etc.
