Workshop Agrosystem Services

17-18 February 2014

We are pleased to invite you to a workshop on "Agro(eco)system Services" at Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg (near Berlin) in Feburary 2014. Agrosystem Services are under pressure because of an increasing demand for agricultural biomass. The challenge is to find new approaches to meet this demand without harming non-provisioning services. In the workshop we want to discuss the following focal topics:

  • Demand for agricultural biomass – Increasing pressure on Agrosystem Services
  • Vulnerability of agricultural systems – Influence of Agrosystem Services
  • Sustainable Agriculture – The balance in Agrosystem Services

If you are working on one of these topics and you would like to present your work please submit an abstract for a talk or a poster to

 Franka.Papendiek(at)zalf.de until November 15, 2013

The workshop is organised in co-operation with IALE, ESP and the LEGATO project. The schedule of the two-day-meeting (see file) will consist of initial plenary sessions on February 17th and 18th, including keynotes from Teresa Pinto Correia (Portugal, University of Evora, ICAAM and President IALE Europe) and Fabrice DeClerck (CGIAR
Belgium, ESP) followed by thematic working group sessions. The results of the working groups will be communicated to all participants at the end of the meeting (February 18th). There, a final plenary session will take place to integrate the results and discuss future steps of cooperation and publication.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Müncheberg!

Registration for the workshop will take place soon after the call for abstracts is completed. However, please already make a note in your diary for the 17th and 18th of February 2014!

Best regards from the organisers
